No âmbito do projeto Adapta.Local.CIMAC – Planeamento da Adaptação Climática Municipal no Alentejo Central, a CIMAC promove no próximo dia 25 de março, pelas 10h00, o  Seminário Inicial – Planeamento da Adaptação Climática Municipal no Alentejo Central, dedicado à apresentação do projeto e de experiências de adaptação local às alterações climáticas.

Devido à atual situação pandémica e as restrições que dela advêm, este Seminário decorrerá por videoconferência.

O projeto Adapta.Local.CIMAC – Planeamento da Adaptação Climática Municipal no Alentejo Central’, candidatado ao Aviso de Concurso ‘Small Grant Scheme #3 – Projetos para reforçar a adaptação às alterações climáticas a nível local’, lançado no âmbito do Programa Ambiente, Alterações Climáticas e Economia de Baixo Carbono (Programa Ambiente), tem uma duração de 24 meses, um custo total de 225 325,00€, e é cofinanciado a 85% (191.526,25€) pelo Mecanismo Financeiro do Espaço Económico Europeu (MFEEE / EEA Grants).

Este projeto, liderado pela CIMAC – Comunidade Intermunicipal do Alentejo Central, em parceria com o CEDRU – Centro de Estudos e Desenvolvimento Regional e Urbano, Lda, e a ID Norway, tem como principais objetivos:

• Promover a integração do Plano Intermunicipal de Adaptação às Alterações Climáticas do Alentejo Central à escala municipal;
• Dotar os municípios do Alentejo Central de um instrumento estratégico e operacional de adaptação às alterações climáticas que aumente a resiliência local;
• Promover a integração da adaptação às alterações climáticas nos Instrumentos de Gestão Territorial;
• Definir um quadro operacional de adaptação às alterações climáticas a implementar até 2030;
• Aumentar a capacidade adaptativa dos municípios promovendo a capacitação dos técnicos municipais no domínio da adaptação climática local;
• Aumentar a sensibilidade e a preparação dos atores locais e regionais para lidarem com as implicações das alterações climáticas.

Através do Acordo sobre o Espaço Económico Europeu (EEE), a Islândia, o Liechtenstein e a Noruega são parceiros no mercado interno com os Estados-Membros da União Europeia.

Como forma de promover um contínuo e equilibrado reforço das relações económicas e comerciais, as partes do Acordo do EEE estabeleceram um Mecanismo Financeiro plurianual, conhecido como EEA Grants.

Os EEA Grants têm como objetivos reduzir as disparidades sociais e económicas na Europa e reforçar as relações bilaterais entre estes três países e os países beneficiários.

Para o período 2014-2021, foi acordada uma contribuição total de 2,8 mil milhões de euros para 15 países beneficiários. Portugal beneficiará de uma verba de 102,7 milhões de euros.”

Initial Seminar – Planning Municipal Climate Adaptation in Alentejo Central

Within the scope of the Adapta.Local.CIMAC project – Municipal Climate Adaptation Planning in Alentejo Central, on March 25, at 10 am, CIMAC will promote the Initial Seminar – Municipal Climate Adaptation Planning in Alentejo Central, dedicated to the project presentation and experiences exchange of local adaptation to climate change.

The Adapta.Local.CIMAC project, applied for the’ Small Grant Scheme # 3 – Projects to reinforce climate change adaptation at local level ‘, launched under the Environment Program, Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy (Environment Program), has a duration of 24 months, a total cost of € 225 325.00, and is cofinanced at 85% (€ 191,526.25) by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (MFEEE / EEA Grants ).

This project, led by CIMAC – Intermunicipal Community of Alentejo Central, in partnership with CEDRU – Centre for Studies and Urban and Regional Development, Ltd., and ID Norway, has as main objectives:

• To promote the integration of the Intermunicipal Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change in the Alentejo Central at the municipal level;
• To provide the municipalities of Central Alentejo with a strategic and operational instrument for adapting to climate change that increases local resilience;
• To promote the integration of adaptation to climate change in the Territorial Management Instruments;
• To define an operational framework for adapting to climate change to be implemented by 2030;
• To increase the adaptive capacity of municipalities by promoting the training of municipal technicians in the field of local climate adaptation;
• And to increase the sensitivity and preparedness of local and regional actors to deal with the implications of climate change.

Through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA), Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway are partners in the internal market with the Member States of the European Union.

As a way of promoting a continuous and balanced strengthening of economic and trade relations, the parties to the EEA Agreement have established a multiannual Financial Mechanism, known as the EEA Grants.

The EEA Grants aim to reduce social and economic disparities in Europe and to strengthen bilateral relations between these three countries and the beneficiary countries.

For the 2014-2021 period, a total contribution of € 2.8 billion has been agreed to 15 beneficiary countries. Portugal will benefit from a budget of 102.7 million euros.
